10 Differences Between Democrats and Republicans

Written by Paul Zannucci on 10:50 PM

Nearly every blog I've visited tonight, both liberal and conservative, is posting something in tribute to Tim Russert. I'm not going to rehash what everyone else is saying. It's very sad.

No, what I'd like to point out is the difference in attitudes between conservative and liberal blogs and the people who read them. It is no secret that many conservatives felt that Tim Russert, while better than most, still leaned left too often in his interviews. Yet there is nothing but sympathy and respect for the man today on conservative blogs. Contrast this to what happens when a conservative figure, for instance Jerry Falwell, passes away. You have libs dancing in the cyber-streets, wishing the person to hell and offering final, cursing, parting shots that are enough to make any sensible human flinch.

No, there is a greater difference between liberals and conservatives than just the political issues. A far greater difference.

1) Democrats want someone to take someone else's money and feed the poor. Republicans want to take their own money and feed the poor themselves.

2) Democrats want to fight corporations and hug terrorists. Republicans want to work for or run corporations and fight terrorists.

3) Democrats want the right to legislate equality. Republicans want to the right to earn equality.

4) Democrats want to save the earth despite the presence of people. Republicans want to save the earth because of the presence of people.

5) Democrats select stances that will enhance their positions with special interest groups. Republicans select stances they believe are correct.

6) Democrats will use any means, including legislating from the bench, to achieve their goals. Republicans will surrender an issue rather than rape the U.S. Constitution.

7) Democrats will stab their own friends in the back (Hillary Clinton) as soon as someone seemingly better comes along (Obama). Republicans still honor their fallen political heroes and even adopt fallen Democrats (see Dick Morris and Bernie Goldberg).

8) Democrats will march around and throw blood on people wearing fur and protest the harsh living conditions of chickens. Republicans are against abortion.

9) Thanks to a few conservative radio shows and a single unbiased news channel, Democrats don't feel like the Fairness Doctrine would hurt the first amendment. Republicans haven't changed their stance on freedom of speech despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of the media are liberal.

10) Democrats rejoice when someone they disagree with dies. Republicans, as usual, cherish and respect life.

So I take it you are a Republican. Next time you write, consider the following: your bias conjecture offers no concrete substance to you readers. The Democrats may modify the Constitution, however, the Republicans have "raped" this country.

Mike, your anti-intellectual submission to liberal propaganda makes you a baffoon who adds nothing to the country but empty-eyed disinformation.

i have been looking at many websites for the differences between democrats and republicans. when i found this, i read a few and thought right away "this person is clearly a republican" all the other websites have informed people, not tried to change their mind. You are trying to persuade people, and in doing so, you are completely wrong. I was looking for information, not persuasion.

    Dear Republican,
Your biast approach clearly proves how ignorant you are and for you to judge the entire democratic community by the actions of a few, would be something like blaming the entire Iraqi war on it's people when we all know that it only took one man in Iraq to start it.Lastly, for you think that democrats rejoice from a death of a republican is ABSURD.11 years old are we???

I am neither republican or democrat. However, over the years I have definitely been in more agreement with the republicans. I think that both political parties are corrupt and only look after their own interests and not the american people. But I feel that the core beliefs of a republican is right on. I don't want the government to tell me what i can or cannot do. I want to keep my own money and do whatever I see fit with it. If I decide to buy a new car or right a check for charity, it is my earned money and should be my decision. I think everyone should be taxed equally and just because someone earns more money they shouldn't be penalized for becoming successful. I believe the government should help disabled, senior citizens and the people that legitimately cannot work to support themselves or families. I believe that people that lose their jobs because of layoffs should be helped temporarily but not very long. I do not believe the government should ever help people which are more than able to work but refuse too because they are just too lazy to do so. I believe that ever person should be responsible for his/hers own actions. I think the government already controls us too much and would actually like to see less intervention. I don't mind the government wire tapping mine or anyones communications. If it stops 1 person from killing 1 person, I think it justify's itself. I believe schools should be able to teach what the principle feels is best and that people have the option to choose which school they can go to which supports their personal beliefs. I don't think schools should teach everyone evolution just because one group doesn't believe in God. Just as much as they don't believe in God, other people do. So, what gives atheists more rights than others? I believe in defending our country at ALL costs. Whatever it takes to keep us safe I believe in. Although the poster is clearly republican, most of his statements are true to the T. I've read over a hundred different unbias reports about the difference between Rep vs Dem and every point above is the CORE beliefs of each party. I do think the statements could have been posted differently, but regardless, facts are facts. I know most democrats like to believe they are more educated and view everything intellectually vs. republicans. But one thing I have learned in my life is experience speaks way louder than education and degrees. Usually the smartest people in the room are the ones who barely passed high school. But, either way it's okay because everyone has a right to their own beliefs whether anyone agrees with them or not. There is not a right or wrong choice in life, it's just each way leads to a different outcome. let the flames begin!!

I couldnt agree with you more, thank you for saying everything that nobody can say out loud.

We all have our biased minds and we all see the democrats as control freaks and the republicans as assholes. Lets put the swords down and pick up the pen. Our beautiful country is being separated by the lack of willingness to work to together compassionately. We are developing barriers that will only inhibit social and political growth. So I damn both of the parties and would like to start a new party called the Republicratic party that is devoted to upholding individual freedom, free market business and as well as giving the government the ability to intervene when necessary. (Such as when Big Businesses lose their integrity) We the people of the United States of America are ruining our collective reputation by building these barriers. Let us party together.

Republicans are only fiscally conservative when Democrats are in control and want to spend money on programs important to them. If republicans where in control they would just increase the deficit...oh, that's what they did do.
