Obama and his friends. A Mother's Nightmare.

Written by Paul Zannucci on 8:11 AM

I know a lady, whom I will not name, a recent immigrant from Africa, who made the incredibly difficult decision to leave her husband behind and bring her children to America for a better future. She had formal training as a nurse, and, as such, found a lot of opportunities here. Yet life has not been easy for her. It has been a long process to bring her husband along, which is such a terrible shame; so he is still back in Africa waiting in the long bureaucratic line to come to America while his wife works and raises their children here--without the father's influence.

Without her husband at her side, times have been harder than they should have been. She has gone back to school and taken a second job. She's doing her best. She's trying hard. She's asked for nothing, and, in fact, wants no help. She, instead, has been helping other recent immigrants, letting them live in her home as they get on their feet. She is my hero.

Sadly, her oldest son, just trying to conform and find camaraderie in a land so different from the one he came from, became involved in a gang at his high school, and it was not the Computer Club gang or the Youth for Obama gang. It was, sadly, quite a more serious gang than that. The situation came to a head one day when he was almost killed during an incident. The most fortunate, God-inserted, word there was "almost".

Within two weeks of the incident, his mother shipped him off. She recognized that with the amount of work and school that she had and that without a father to help, that her son was at an age where she could not effectively control the influences over him. Lecture him as she might, he was, at heart, a boy thousands of miles from home going through a time in his life when external influences begin to supersede Mommy. So he was gone, sent to a gentler place to enter manhood, a rural Arizona community where his grandmother had immigrated some years before.

I thought of this story this morning because of Barack Obama and his clear inability to pick his friends and acquaintances. From the folks who preached at his church of twenty years:

and recently convicted money-man Tony Rezko, a extortionist and close ally of Obama:

and Rashid Khalidi, the former PLO member:

to all the unnamed staff members running the gaffe machinery from behind the scenes: Obama's Inability to Hire Good Help Rears Its Head … Again.

One can only wish that my humble and hard-working friend from Africa were Obama's mother. I sense he'd be spending the summer in Arizona with her mother instead of jetting around the country running for office.

I might have added his wife to this list, but Obama said to lay off his wife, right?

He is a liberal after all therefore only his "intentions" matter so no ill can be spoken of him or his associations at all. God Bless McCain and God Bless America

You do know that Barack Obama's 52-year-old mother died of cancer in 1995?

    Just thought I'd mention that.

donna-jean: you do know that he didn't bother to visit his mother on her death-bed. Just thought I'd mention that.

I'm not even sure we're allowed to use "his" name on a conservative blog at all. I think that's politically incorrect or something. Maybe it's against the law already. It's hard to keep up.

How dare you make a reference to his dearly departed mother? The mother who, if I am not mistaken, married at least one radical muslim extremist. Does no one read the context? He simply was saying a mother would not let a child run with questionable characters. However in this case I guess the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. God Bless America

I think Pitney pretty much said it all. No need for me to respond further.

After thinking on the rhetorical question in the title, I decided to change it.

As long as your "intentions" were good

You give me too much credit when you say I have "intentions".
